Ohio Senator Fedor had planned to visit OHMR's AT08 Posted by: ohmra on Tuesday, October 07, 2008 - 07:37 AM "At the invitation of the Ohio Military Reserve Association, Ohio Senator Teresa Fedor had planned to visit OHMR's AT08. Last minute schedule conflicts prevented her from attending, so she forwarded this message..":
September 25, 2008
I would have loved to be here in person this evening to show my support to the Ohio Military Reserve and to get a first hand look at your annual training activities. As a veteran, I understand the commitment and sacrifices that come with serving. The fact that you all choose to serve Ohio on your own time and on your own dime speaks volumes to the character of the men and women in this room.
The possibility of homeland emergencies is an ever present reality and with our nation at war, there is crucial need for well trained, capable men and women to respond in times of crisis. Whether it’s keeping the peace, assessing disaster, or coordinating relief efforts, you provide the boots on the ground support that is so desperately needed during an emergency in our great state.
I appreciate the efforts of Ohio Military Reserve Association president James Nowak who is kind enough to read this message and I am inspired by his accounts of the work you are putting in this week and all year long. I look forward to future opportunities to get to know more members of the Ohio Military Reserve and all those serving our country and our state. Thank you.
Senator Teresa Fedor
11th District
